नवधा भक्ति (राम-शबरी संवाद)

राम ने शबरी को नवधा भक्ति के बारे में ज्ञान दिया था:
Shri Ram explains the nine types of devotion or penance:

नवधा भगति कहउं तोहि पाहीं। सावधान सुनु धरु मन माहीं॥
प्रथम भगति संतन्ह कर संगा। दुसरि रति मम कथा प्रसंगा॥
The nine ways of devotion, I impart to you. Listen you well and remember it always. The first is, fellowship with saints (or good company). The second, fondness for legends of the Lord.

गुरु पद पंकज सेवा तीसरि भगति अमान।
चौथि भगति मम गुन गन करइ कपट तजि गान॥
Selfless service to the Guru's lotus feet is the third way. The fourth, hymns to the Lord's virtues with a heart clear of guile or deceipt.

मंत्र जाप मम दृढ़ बिस्वासा। पंचम भजन सो बेद प्रकासा॥
छठ दम सील बिरति बहु करमा। निरत निरंतर सज्जन धरमा॥
Chanting my mystic name with steadfast faith is the fifth way as the Vedas reveal. The sixth, is to practice self-control, good character, detachment from manifold activities and always follow the duties as good religious person.

सातवँ सम मोहि मय जग देखा। मोतें संत अधिक करि लेखा॥
आठवँ जथालाभ संतोषा। सपनेहुं नहिं देखइ परदोषा॥
The seventh sees the whole world as the Lord and regards the saints higher than the Lord. The eighth, enjoins contentment with what one has. And, dream not of finding faults in others.

नवम सरल सब सन छलहीना। मम भरोस हिय हरष न दीना॥
नव महुं एकउ जिन्ह कें होई। नारि पुरूष सचराचर कोई॥
सोइ अतिसय प्रिय भामिनी मोरें। सकल प्रकार भगति दृढ़ तोरें॥
The ninth demands simplicity and behavior without deceit with all. And, to have strong faith in the Lord with neither exhaltation nor depression in any life circumstance. Anyone with any of the nine types of devotion is very dear to me. Then, you, dear shabri, have all of the above.

प्रथम संत सत्संग सुहाना। साधु संग से उपजे ग्याना॥
दूजी भक्ति परम सुख दाता। चित्त लगा सुन मेरी गाथा॥

तज अभिमान करो गुरु सेवा। ब्रह्म विष्णु शिव सम गुरु देवा॥
हो निष्कपट मेरा गुन गायन। करे सो पावे राम रसायन॥

दृढ़ विश्वास राख निज अन्तर। राम मंत्र कर जाप निरंतर॥
इन्द्रिय वश कर चरित संभालो। सद्गुण धार धर्म नित पालो॥

सारा जगत राममय जानो। मुझसे अधिक संतों को मानो॥
एक संतोष सकल सुख लाये। सपनेहु गिनो न दोष पराये॥

सरल प्रकृति निष्छल ब्यवहारी। मुझ पर रखो भरोसा भारी॥
कोई भी स्थिति हो जीवन में। हर्ष विषाद न रखना मन में॥

नवधा भक्ति ह्रदय जो राखे। मेरी कृपा का फल वो चाखे॥
